Geocache Description:

Another pleasant walk through the Cambridgeshire countryside with nice views to the South (from the Hardwick end). The final hurdle can be muddy after rain. Some brambles near the cache. Good GPS signal until nearer the cache. Watch out for Muggles.

As the title suggests this the second cache on the Millennium Walk that surrounds the village of Hardwick. This cache was inspired by Muttley and me who said that they had put the Eastings into their GPSr as Westings and started walking the wrong way. This got me thinking if I could plant a cache with the exact same co-ordinates using W not E. Alas the point is 100 feet the wrong side of a barbed wire fence but I thought I would hide a cache near there anyway.
The full walk is 8.6 miles although it can be broken down into smaller walks. The Western half of the route where the cache is hidden being 4.6 miles along a flattish bridleway.
If you start from the Hardwick side why not take in ‘Airy’s Legacy’ by Nickers (adopted by me) and of course others in the ‘Millennium Meander' series.
More information can be found at
Millennium Walk Webpage.

Near the cachesite is Hardwick wood which is now owned by The Wildlife Trust and has marked pathways through it. Great in the spring when the wood is filled with bluebells.
