Patron Eric Ericsson på Granbergsdal ville fira 300-årsjubileum på gården. Tanken väcktes efter att en sten rests till minne över "Kung Kalix" i Tingshusparken i Karlskoga.
Denna stens text lyder "TILL MINNE AF CARL IX ODLINGENS FRÄMJARE I DENNA BYGD SOM BÄR HANS NAMN RESTES STENEN DEN 30 OKTOBER 1911 TREHUNDRA ÅR EFTER HANS DÖD."
Nu kom Granbergsdal i släktens ägo först 1625 men det var för länge att vänta så han skred till verket 14 år för tidigt.
Platsen var då (1911) öppet landskap, kan tilläggas.

Patron Eric Ericsson of Granbergsdal wanted to celebrate the 300th anniversary of the estate Granbergsdal.
This was induced by the monument over king Carl the ninth (aka Kalix) raised in Karlskoga with the inscription (translated from swedish, short version): "Text: TO THE MEMORY OF CARL IX WHOSE NAME THIS TOWN CARRIES THIS MONUMENT WAS RAISED 30 OCTOBER 1911 THREE HUNDRED YEARS AFTER HIS DEATH."
Granbergsdal as an estate was actually not born until 1625 but that was too far away in time for the impatient patron.
14 years too early he started out celebrating.
I might add that this was an open field at the time (1911)
