Geocache Description:

A Pleasant walk along the foreshore of the Bristol Channel between Newport & Cardiff

Park in the carpark of the Lighthouse Inn, Beach Road St. Brides. Co-ordinates for carpark N51 31 773 W003 00 614. Follow the footpath via a stile or kissing gate to the top of the dyke along the foreshore. The rest is up to you!!

This walk is suitable for everyone including dogs and children (ground could be difficult for buggies).

This is a popular area for the Welsh Federation of Sea Anglers who hold regular competions along the foreshore.

During Sept 2004 3 Fin Whales beached along this coastline. The largest weighing approx 60 tonnes. Though this is only seen on rare occasions you will be able to see lots of other wildlife and insects on the walk.

The views across the channel are of Weston Super Mare, Minehead etc., Looking up the channel you will be able to see the H of the Second Severn crossing. Depending on the tide you will also see the shipping lane in use, either going to Newport or Bristol Docks.

The cache is a 2 litre plastic container which originally contained:
Radio
Key-ring Light
Small high-lighter pens
Car Door protectors
Money Clip
Ladybird and Moth cloth clips
Plastic Key covers and small assortment of animals.

Parking area is approx 1.1 miles from the cache.

This cache was placed by Top Cat & Co, it is our first cache and we look forward to your comments.
