Geocache Description:

This Alona Bay location is a scenic complex with stone shore, a fast flowing brook and interesting ruins.Too nice to pass by.

It is relatively easy to access from Highway 17, a short drive or hike to the parking area and a very short hike into the woods. The real treasures are the view, the great rock hunting beach and some old ruins. I'm told the ruins are remnants of a WW2 POW camp system. Might bring a picnic lunch for the beach and a fly rod for the stream.

* The cache is in a sandwich-sized, tupperware container, with a camo lid (Thanks Chad for re-packaging)

NOTE/HINT: AS YOU APPROACH THE CACHE AREA ON HIGHWAY 17 YOU WILL SEE A BRIDGE. THERE ARE DIRT DRIVES TOWARD LAKE SUPERIOR ON THE NORTH AND SOUTH SIDE OF THE BRIDGE. IT IS IMPORTANT THAT YOU TURN IN THE DRIVE ON THE "SOUTH" (Sault Ste. Marie) SIDE TO BE ON THE RIGHT SIDE OF THE STREAM.
