Geocache Description:

Cache with toys, located on the La Crosse River State Bike Trail. Easy access from West Salem. The trail is right off of the interstate exit.

The cache is a olive drab ammo can. It contains small toys and has become somewhat of a travel bug hotel. Should be a nice and easy starter cache, especially if you have children. The trail is flat and it is a short walk to the cache from West Salem. You can get to the cache from either direction. Bike in from the west, walk or bike from the east.

West Salem is rich in history. Founded by Thomas Leonard in 1851, the village is the home of Pulitzer Prize-winning author Hamlin Garland. Historic points of interest include two octagon homes, Thomas Leonard's colonial-style home (Historic Salem), and the Hamlin Garland Homestead.

The Geocache Notification Form has been submitted to the La Crosse DNR Service Center. Geocaches placed on Wisconsin Department of Natural Resouce managed lands require permission by means of a notification form.
