Neptune has eight moons. If Neptune were hollow, it could contain nearly 60 Earths. Neptune orbits the Sun every 165 years, and a day on Neptune is about 16 hours long. Neptune appears blue due to the methane gas which, along with molten rock, water and ammonia, make up 2/3 of the planet. The strongest winds on any planet were measured on Neptune. Neptune has a set of four rings which are narrow and very faint. These rings are made up of dust particles thought to have been made by tiny meteorites smashing into Neptune's moons. Enjoy your walk as you seek out Neptune. It's nestled in the quiet woods of this beautiful park. Bring a picnic, a dog or two, but leave your telescope at home!

Neptune is way out there, over 35 times Earth's distance from the Sun. The biggest distance from it's inner neighbor in our example, it'll take almost an hour to drive there from Uranus!
