The cache is hidden under a rock in heavy undergrowth at the base
of a forgotten war memorial.
Call me optimistic, but my hope is to get people back to old
historic Joburg - my plan? - Hide a cache. Truly marvellous views -
nice hiking trail. Pity about the trash strewn liberally - please
bring trash bags on your way in (gate to trail should be open at
top of road in Urania Village, Observatory). NOTE: You may find
candles and bottles filled with water in some places - these are
placed by "bergies" - I'm never quite sure if I should destroy
these to discourage the homeless (they make themselves scarce in
the day) - it's a question of security? You decide. Pretty safe
generally - popular hiking trail for dog walkers in the area. Well
worth the outing. OH - almost forgot - cache contains pearl
necklace (taken from Smuts Memorial cache), DC Shoes bling tag, log
book, pencil, sharpener, wire-art gecko, Camp Jeep 2004 button (I
think), aluminium box, all wrapped in a trash bag. First one there
gets a Noddy Badge!!!!
