***CHANGE OF VENUE!!!***
As a result of the smoke
and threat of road closure due to the Chapman Creek fire north of the Marion Creek Campground, the location of the Cache Event
has been moved to Byers Lake Campground in Denali State Park.
The First Annual Summer Solstice Midnight Caching Event Cache is scheduled
for noon Saturday through noon Sunday, June 25 and 26, 2005. The
noon to noon schedule is set to allow Fairbanks and Anchorage area residents to
make this a weekend excursion.
Features of the Event Cache include looking for the caches in the area,
fishing and canoeing at Byers Lake, hiking one of several trails to Curry and
Kesugi Ridges or around the lake, a potluck dinner, and at least one GPS contest
as played in the lower 48 at other cache events. Be sure to bring your
owner's manual if you don't know how to project a waypoint or change map datums.
