Chomolangma Traditional Geocache

This cache has been archived.

Bergheil Chris!

English (thanks to hobu49 for really good translation!)

During planning his Himalaya-Expedition in 2004/2005 Kletterlemmie and I
came up to the thought, giving the Cacher-Community a special incentive
by putting a Cache on the highest mountain of the world. The Cache was
placed by Kletterlemmie, a passionate alpine climber, in 2005. After his
tragical accident at mountain Dent D'Hérens (4171m/13684ft) in Italy,
which ended for him deadly, I took over this Cache in memory to him.

As this Cache was placed in question by a huge number of unqualified
Cachers with unqualified utterances and I'm running out of steam in
constantly arguing with these people if this Cache is a fake or not, I'm
archiving it.

It remains to declare that my actual aim, to keep up the memories to a
very special friend by holding this special cache alive, was unhappily
not reached.

To Kletterlemmie: Even after your 3rd day of death the memories to you
keep always awake.

Bergheil, Chris!

Geocache Description:

Highest cache in the world

Once you get to Tibet, acclimatize for 4-5 weeks, be able to handle crampons, ice tools and jumar - wait for good weather conditions. Best is in april/may or september.

Altitude is 7.570m. Be sure to have some dextamethason with you for emergency. Only experienced climber should realy try.

Cache is a smal plastic box with following contents:
lighter
storm matches
dressing material

Enjoy the nice view over Cho Oyu, Changtse and other famous mountains and once you are here you should take the chance and visit the highest place on Earth ! But only if weather conditions allow. Take care !

Wind speeds can be more than 150 mph, so I can't guarantee for long lifetime of the cache, even if covered with some heavy rocks.

Thx to Fenriswolf for the idea !
