Der Große Rachel (1453 m). Zweithöchster Berg des Bayerischen Waldes.
Mt. Rachel (1453 m). The second highest mountain of the Bavarian Forest.
Der Cache befindet sich auf dem Wanderweg zwischen Rachelgipfel und Rachelsee/-kapelle.
Der Rachel liegt im Kerngebiet des Nationalparks Bayerischer Wald. Dort ist es untersagt, die markierten Wege zu verlassen! Deshalb ist der Cache direkt neben dem Wanderweg versteckt.
Ich hoffe, ihr werdet nicht durch zu viele Wanderer gestört!
Mögliche Startpunkte für Eure Wanderung:
- Die Parkplätze „Gfäll“ oder „Racheldiensthütte“. Im Sommer (15.05. – 31.10.) müsst Ihr allerdings mit dem „Igelbus“ dorthin fahren, weil die Straßen für den Individualverkehr von 8-18 Uhr gesperrt sind.
- Der Parkplatz bei Oberfrauenau. Der „Rachelsteig“, markiert mit dem grünen Dreieck, führt Euch zum Gipfel.

The cache is beside the hike path from the Rachel summit to Rachelsee/-kapelle.
The Rachel is in the Biosphere Reserve „Nationalpark Bayerischer Wald“. It is forbidden, to lave the marked hike paths! Therefore the cache is hidden near to the trail.
I hope you’ll not be disturbed by too many wanderers!
Possible starting points for your hike:
- Parking lots "Gfäll" or "Racheldiensthütte". You have to take the bus (called "Igelbus") in the summer (15.05. – 31.10.) because the roads to these parkinglots are closed from 8-18 h for cars at this time.
- Parking lot at Oberfrauenau. The hike path "Rachelsteig", marked with a green triangle, leads you to the summit.
