Geocache Description:

As of 11.14.13 caches is now located at 395 feet at 288 degrees from the landing spot.

On the night of May 7, 2005 at 11:07 PM I was in bed half asleep. I was awoken by what sounded like a plane landing in the middle of our residential neighborhood. I said to my wife, "sounds like that plane landed in the neighborhood." She replied, "the windows are open, they sound like that coming in to Palwaukee". Several minutes later we heard sirens. A few minutes later it sounded as though the traffic on our dead-end street had increased. More than one car per day is a lot for our block! Next morning, on the news, there is a story about a plane making an emergency landing in a residential neighborhood in Buffalo Grove. The pilot ran out of fuel on a training flight from Milwaukee to Palwaukee. The training instructor and the pilot were not injured. The landing site is a field that is adjacent to a grammar school. The boys and I go out for a look and all that is left are a pair of television news trucks and a few deep gouges in the grassy field. The GPS coordinates for the listing are spot-on for the torn up spots in the field, the only real evidence of the landing. If you get to the cache soon you will see them. They will grow in before the end of the summer. See 'em while you can. Bring your own pencil.
