Hedge Your Bets Multi-cache

This cache has been archived.

The Klever Boys: Many thanks for Dan & Kim for the information and photo that confirms that they were in exactly the right place and the cache has indeed been taken.

We've been out to the cache site ourselves this afternoon to see if there's an alternative location to re-site it, but failed to find a suitable spot.
This was our first cache hide and it seemed quite popular, but in view of the above, we sadly feel that we've got little option but to archive the listing.
We're upset that the (full) cache camera never got as far as being developed, but at least no Travel Bugs were lost.

Many thanks to those who have visited.
It's been fun.

Geocache Description:

Yew Tree Avenue is a unique collection of 150 clipped yew trees, most being over 200 years old and was once the carriage drive to Clipsham Hall, the centre of the Clipsham Estate.

The site has ample free parking, open every day and is conveniently situated just a couple of miles from the A1 turnoff at Stretton. Dogs welcome provided they are kept under control.

The co-ordinates listed above are for suitable parking - no physical cache is located there!

The cache itself is located a short walk away from Forestry Commission land at the following co-ordinates:
N52° 44.HFC   W 0° 3A.GDB

Decipher this location by visiting the co-ordinates below and collecting the necessary information. All the clues are within a few hundred yards of the parking location. With the exception of clue 3, you might want to add to the fun by not using the co-ordinates, but searching for them yourselves!

1. N52° 44.455  W0° 32.948
When was the copper beech tree planted?   Answer = A1 March 19B6

2. N52° 44.446  W0° 32.972
How many chimney pots are there in total on the two chimney stacks of the lodge?   Answer = C

3. N52° 44.414  W0° 33.147
Look at the numbers below "E II R" (hint: be careful, there are two in the area, but only one at the quoted location!)   Answer = DEF2

4. N52° 44.400  W0° 33.201
Look at the numbers below "RCC"   Answer = 19GH

Once the location has been obtained, there will be a walk of less than 0.5 miles to find the cache, which is a suitably-labelled black and green ammo box. As far as we know, there is no "cross-country" direct route to the cache from the parking area, so you'll need to take a short walk along the side of a road for part of the way, and although it isn't a main road, please take the appropriate care.
The cache container is quite snugly-fitted in its hiding location - could finders please ensure it is pushed back fully and adequately re-covered.

Items in the cache when placed were the following:
Official GC logbook & pens and "Stashnote" explanatory laminated notice.

Also, trade items:
Travel draughts game
Set of colouring pencils
"Hot Wheels" toy car
Ornamental candle
Toy Warrior
"The Blue Bedroom" Book (probably not as exciting as it sounds??)
Royal Jelly bath crème
Noughts & Crosses game
Mouse ornament

We've also left a disposable camera - feel free to capture your mugshot, note it in the log and please leave it in the cache for the next person. Once full, please let us know and we will post the pictures on a suitable webpage. Have fun!
