Geocache Description:

This is a traditional cache in one of Australia’s most spectacular areas. Access to this cache will be available only in Summer, early Autumn and late Spring. Before attempting this walk you should make sure weather conditions are ok as the cache can only be reached by foot. The return distance from the top of the Kosciuszko Express Chairlift is 13kms and the trip takes about 5 hours. There is no food and drink available along the track so be sure and take a picnic lunch and at least 1 litre of water per person. Weather conditions can change without warning so remember to bring warm clothing, blockout and rain gear. Mount Kosciuszko is Australia’s highest peak standing at 2228 metres above sea level and is located in the southern section of the Kosciuszko National Park. This cache was a last minute inclusion on our walk and is our first cache so the contents are limited to a few items. We did this walk on a glorious Autumn day, thinking that it would be cold we rugged up but in the end stripped off our warm gear and did the walk in beautifully warm conditions.
