A standard multi-cache with a clue
and a micro to be found. These lead to the final cache which
is a small tupperware style box with room for small swaps
only.
It is located on Dawes Comon just
outside the village of Sarratt. There is parking for a few cars at
N51°40.974', W000°30.012' (the published co-ordinates) and a couple more just down
the lane. Be careful on the approach as it's a very narrow lane and
is popular with walkers and horse riders.
The whole thing can be done easily
in 10-15 minutes and although not too wheel chair friendly there
are plenty of benches for the less mobile to rest on.
First of all walk
through the wood to N51°41.064', W000°30.096' to find a
memorial to Frederick Ward who once owned the nursery that used to
be located across the road from the parking spot. On the stone
you'll see some dates. Using the picture below carry out the usual
substitution using the formula beneath the picture:
N51° 41.ABA, W000° 30.(D-B)A(D-C)
Follow the arrow to
visit Les Dolamore and take a rest to enjoy the view.
While you are resting
your feet you should look for a micro cache containing the
co-ordinates for the final cache. It's not too far and to get to it
you should walk back into the wood and then follow the arrow on
your GPS. You'll probablly have problems with tree cover but
hopefully there'll be enough coverage to guide you. If not, the
spoiler is quite specific.
