How Geocaching Works

Please note Use of geocaching.com services is subject to the terms and conditions in our disclaimer.

Geocache Description:

WELCOME ALL CACHERS! Rain or Shine. This May-time event is happening on Sunday May 22nd between 12:00 noon and 4:00 p.m. This year our gathering place will be at Senior Center located at 8 Nashua Road in Pelham, NH. Parking at coordinates N 42° 44.124 W 071° 19.520. (Reason for our change in venue: The Raymond Park Lodge, where this event was held last year, is being brought “up to code” and work will not be finished until sometime in June.)

Newbies to geocaching are more than welcome to come and “chin” with the “veteran” cachers who have many tales to tell.

BRING “food to share” - pot luck or snacks. Some non-alcoholic beverages will be available at the Center. Because putting geo-names and faces together is always fun, generic name tags will be available for those who do not create their own.

SPECIAL EVENT CACHES are being planned! As of this posting there are 9 caches in Pelham; 22 caches within a 5 mile radius of Pelham and 92 active caches within a 10 mile radius of Pelham.

TRAVEL BUGS: To facilitate a smooth transfer at the exchange table, please post a note in advance to log in the NAME(s) of the TB(s) you’ll be bringing. Be sure to sign them IN and OUT on the sheets that we use to answer any questions that arise during the week after the event. And, don’t forget to log in at the meet any late travel bug arrivals and of course also – be sure to log out what you take. Take only one travel bug for each one that you bring. If you have an extra one to drop you will allow a newcomer to grab one and learn about travel bugs.

CACHE ITEM SWAP: You’re invited to bring trade items (value about $5.00). At 3:00 p.m. we will start drawing one name at a time for someone who is in the room to pick out an item, then pick the next name etc. etc. We will continue this until all items are picked. If someone is still out on the trail, their name will be returned to the container. If you must leave early, something can be arranged. Keep it simple, make it fun.

NEARBY CACHES: Coordinates will be available

Remember - log in your Travel Bugs…by TB name, please.

Food – Fun – Friends (some old – meet new) Hope to see you there!!
