Hradek u Nechanic
The Castle was built for Count František Arnost Harrach between 1839 and 1857 on a rice near the village of Hrádek, 12 kilometers west of Hradec Králové. The Viennese builder, Karl Fischer, connstructed it according to a plan by the London architect, G. Lamb, based on Crewe Hall in Cheshire dating from the years 1615 to 1636. The interior decoration, stucco work, wood-carvings and metal work copied the late North Renaissaince style. Thanks to Harrach's many economic and curtural contacts he was able to furnish his castle with very valuable objects and furniture from practically the whole of Europe.
