Geocache Description:

A beautiful spot for camping when traveling the South Tunisian Sahara.

Geocache Sahara-Camp was placed into a palm tree in a small oasis 12 km south of Tiaret. You'll enter it, when going south to Ain Skouna, Bir Pistor and Bordj el Khadra, the southernmost point of Tunisia with a beautiful desert lake. At this spot we had a lovely, but very cold night that March. Our German group (seven persons, three Landrovers) shared it with four Austian motorbikers. The cachebox has gone so often, that we decided not to replace it again. To prove your visit, please post a photo of you inside the camp. To prove your log, I'll come over with a question, you can easily answer, when you are there.

More information about the location, the area and Tunisia, also German and French version on request.

Small note on cache maintenance: I travel around all parts of Tunisia regularly. So cache control is no problem for me. Further I know two of the people working in the oil field of Tiaret, who are the next human beings to the cache and can be send in case of need before I reach it again.
