Geocache Description:

Holmwood Common. Parking free at N51 12.602 W0 19.566
About .25m walk SSW from parking.

This is my 1st cache placed! Holmwood Common in ancient times was part of the Manor of Dorking held by King Herald.
It was a wild, wooded and inaccesible place and a haven for sheep stealers and smugglers. The Toll road built in 1755 linking Dorking and Horsham made crossing the common easier but highwaymen still thrived for 50 years more.

Holmwood common was acquired by the National Trust in 1952 from the Duke of York.

The cache is my sarny box! quite large and hidden about 20 paces from the path.

The initial contents are:
Log Book,Pen,Pencils
My 1st 2 personal bugs, British Bull Dog Clip bug and Bonjour Sexy travel bug
Tea House Bug

7 personal leather coasters(Please take one)
4 Geocache leaflets
1st,2nd & 3rd finder certificates.
2 bouncy balls
2 Tiger tails
Helicopter disc
2 Finger monsters

Please make sure it is covered up again and lid firmly on(which is quite stiff)(replaced for better sarny box now)

Happy hunting! Andy
