Mooi uitzicht over de Sloterplas, een kunstmatig aangelegd meer in
Amsterdam-West. De plas werd gegraven tussen 1948 en 1956 en is
circa 30 meter diep. De vrijgekomen grond werd gebruikt voor
ophoging van de omliggende woongebieden, tuinsteden genaamd.
De cache is een 35mm filmdoosje (breng zelf een pen mee!) en is
verstopt nabij het Watersportcentrum Sloterplas. Een ideaal plekje
voor sommige sportvissers en andere watersporters, dus enige
voorzichtigheid is geboden.
De cache is sinds 25-03-2006 op een andere plek verstopt, zo'n 40
meter van de oude plek. De coördinaten zijn aangepast. Let op: haal
het kokertje niet uit z'n camouflage!

Nice views of the Sloterplas, an
artificial lake in the western part of Amsterdam. The lake was dug
between 1948 and 1956. It is about 30 meters or 100 feet deep. The
sand was used to heighten the surrounding area, where the so called
garden cities (the suburbs in this part of Amsterdam) were
built.
The cache is a 35mm film canister (bring
your own pen!), hidden near the Watersportcentrum Sloterplas
(Sloterplas Aquatic Sports Centre). A popular area for anglers,
therefore it is necessary to stay alert at all times. Don't remove
the canister from its camouflage!
