OVER THE POLE (North to South) Multi-cache

This cache has been archived.

Deceangi: Rather than keep this cache temporarily disabled (which should only be used for shortish periods) I'm archiving it. If/when the cache is ever replaced I'll gladly unarchive it assuming it still meets the guidelines.

Please avoid geolitter by removing any remaining traces of your cache or contact a local cacher to do so for you. If you are having difficulty doing so then please contact me via my profile and I will try to get someone to assist. This is particularly important if your cache appears to contain Travelbugs or Geocoins.

Geocache Description:

A two-part multi-cache in the UK and New Zealand. NZ holds magic memories for Birders, who have many family members and friends there.

PLEASE, NO TRAVEL BUGS SHOULD BE PLACED IN THIS CACHE, as they will be listed in the wrong country! PLEASE TAKE A PEN OR PENCIL WITH YOU AS THE SMALL PENCIL IN THE MICRO GOES MISSING OFTEN

This is a two-part, two-person, Intercontinental multi-cache. The first part is a Micro-cache (APS film canister) located in Finchampstead, England at the co-ordinates listed above. The micro contains the co-ordinates of the second part, which is in Greerton, Tauranga, New Zealand, some 11,580 miles away! More information about this park maybe found at: http://www.geocities.com/nzsanctaury/. Note that the main cache is on private property with the full consent of the owner.

This is how it works. After locating Part 1 (the Micro) in Finchampstead, use the Groundspeak forum (New Zealand page) or the NZ Recreational GPS Societies Geocaching forum to make contact with a geocache partner in New Zealand who is willing to find Part 2 (the main cache).

When a willing NZ partner is found you then email him/her the co-ordinates of the main cache. When your NZ partner has found the second part of the cache he/she must email you to confirm that the cache is complete. When you have received this confirmation both parties can claim the find.

Please note the name of your partner in the log. The NZ cache is an plastic box with various swaps. It is located in the Living Art Wildlife Park, Nature's Place, Tauranga in the Bay of Plenty.

The cache is being run in conjunction with Rick-a-Mortis, who has part 2 of a similar cache Over the Pole South to North - GCMYWH located in the UK close to part 1 of this cache. Teams may like to try both caches at the same time.

Birders are grateful to Rick-a-Mortis for his enthusiastic help in this little exercise.
