This cache is not for everyone. If you don't like to be out of sight of your vehicle don't come. If you don't like to be off trail don't come. If mucking around in a swamp is not to your liking don't come. If you want challenging terrain in a great natural area, leading to a traditional cache then this is for you. This cache is not child friendly. I wouldn't come with anyone not at least of teenage years. This is a remote area. When you choose to enter it you are accepting responsibility for your own safety. The roads in can be challenging in and of themselves. Use caution. A longer walk is preferable to being stuck out here. A low ground clearance vehicle could get in trouble. 4WD is not necessary. You will get wet, at least up to your thighs, and possibly much more depending on your choice of routes to the cache. I placed the cache wearing hip boots and stayed dry. You could portage a small boat in, but the cache is accessible to waders. As far as living hazards, I have seen rattlesnakes, copperheads, and cottonmouth water moccasins in the area. If you are fortunate enough to see one just walk around it and be on your way. They are not a danger to you unless you step on, or otherwise provoke them. Poison ivy is a definite possibility. In the warmer months, mosquitoes, ticks, and chiggers may be encountered. The area abounds with wildlife. Indeed, the defining features of the cache area are the modifications wrought by "nature's engineer", the beaver. The cache itself is an ammo can well stocked with things to use in the great outdoors. This is one of my favorite areas. I hope you enjoy the adventure.
