The memorial to Halifax Bomber MZ519 stands just outside Farnsfield.
Although sited on private land, the memorial is accessible during daylight.
MZ519 was returning to RAF Burn in Yorkshire after completing its 2nd mission of the day when it was seen on fire passing over Nottingham and crashed very near to the memorial at 10.25pm on 6th July 1944. The memorial was established on the 50th anniversary in 1994.
