Pope's Meadow Pleasures (Berkshire) Multi-cache

This cache has been archived.

smudge42: I came today to replace the container, however as I arrived at GZ, the sight that met me was completely different to that of when I was last here. New houses are very close to the area and overlook GZ, and because I felt uncomfortable simply visiting an area I knew, I would not wish to encourage that for other finders.
So, it is with regret that I have chosen to archive this cache. The old container has been removed.

Geocache Description:

This cache takes you to Pope's Meadow, a pleasant open space in Binfield, near Bracknell in Berkshire.

Pope's Meadow is a very pleasant open space in the village of Binfield. The co-ordinates above are for the car park.

There is a car park at N 51º25.353 W 000º47.202, with a children's playground nearby. The main attractions of Pope's Meadow are the woods and the pond, and the mini-trail takes you to the pond and past the trees to the cache. This is a favourite dog-walking area, but the cache is as out-of-the-way as I could make it, so you should be undisturbed on the final approach.

The first clue is beside the pond N51º25.320 W 000º47.276. There is a picnic table there, which is visible from the car park. Call the number of bench supports as A and the number of table supports B. The next clue is on the other side of the pond N 51º25.297 W 000º47.280. There you will see a tree growing right on the edge of the pond - this is visible from the path around the pond, but do go all the way to it, as the pond looks much better from this side! The main trunk splits very near the ground into C separate trunks.

The cache is at N 51º 25.A0C W 000º47.BA0, and is a 1 litre lock'n'lock box. Please ensure that you replace the lid securely, and ensure that the cache is invisible when you replace it.

In winter, and when it has been raining it can be quite muddy, so old shoes are a good idea. The cache is easily accessible, but does require negotiation of some undergrowth.
