The cache is only about 100 meters away. Follow the path down.

The hunt leads you to historical ground, to the quarry 'Spitzelofen' on the upper Steinberg in about 1000 m above sealevel.
It's about a marble quarry, which was Roman property until about the 4th century. It's not possible to tell, how long the
the quarry had been in use. The mined silicate-marble was of high purity and quality.
Die Jagd führt dich in eine historische Umgebung, den Steinbruch 'Spitzelofen' am oberen Steinberg in ca. 1000 m Seehöhe.
Es handelt sich um einen Marmorsteinbruch, der wahrscheinlich bis zum 4. Jh. in römischen Besitz gewesen ist. Wie lange der Steinbruch
in Betrieb war, kann man heute nicht genau sagen. Der abgebaute Silikatmarmor war von großer Reinheit und Qualität.
At a hight of 8 meters there is an engraved inscription, which is hardly to see.
In 8 Meter Höhe befindet sich eine, nur schwach sichtbare, eingemeißelte Inschrift:
S(ilvano) SAXANO AV(usto) SAC(rum) ADVITOR ET SECVNDINVS
Translated: 'Aduitor ans Secundinus raised this sanctuary the grand god of the woods and quarries.'
Übersetzt: 'Aduitor und Secundinus haben dem erhabenen Gott der Wälder und der Steinbrüche dieses Heiligtum errichtet.'
Its still not clear, where this sanctuary actually lies. Naturally there are several different versions.
These versions reach from a meanwhile vanished chapel to the idea, this rock ist the sanctuary itself.
Wo sich dieses Heiligtum befindet, ist nicht ganz klar. Naturgemäß gibt es darüber verschiedene Deutungen.
Diese reichen von einer mittlerweile verfallenen Holzkapelle bis hin zu der Meinung, dass dieser Fels selbst das Heiligtum wäre.
folktales connect this quarry with a hidden treasure. This may be the reason for a guy named Anton Deutschmann to search this
treasure at the end of the 19th century. Assuming the treasure inside this wall, he blasted a big hole into it.
Though there existed no protection of historical monuments at this time, but the k.k. 'mountain-head-workmanship'
intervened and thus saved the quarry from destruction.
Im Volkssagenkreis wird dieser Steinbruch mit einem Schatz in Verbindung gebracht. Aus diesem Grund dürfte wohl
Ende des 19. Jh. ein gewisser Anton Deutschmann versucht haben, diesen Schatz zu finden. Deutschmann sprengte ein Loch
in die Wand, in der Annahme, der Schatz befindet sich innerhalb des Felsen. Es gab damals zwar noch keinen Denkmalschutz,
aber die k.k. Berghauptmannschaft schaltete sich ein und rettete so diesen Steinbruch.
