Ted Binion Murder Mystery Mystery Cache

This cache has been archived.

Boris and Natasha: Time to archive this geocache. The location is too wet and I'm tired of replacing the soggy log and container. And there is no other good hiding spot nearby. It has been a great cache, but its life has come to an end . . . just like Ted Binnion.

Geocache Description:

The above coordinates for this cache are bogus. To find the cache, which is an altoids tin, you will need to solve the puzzle below. The cache is a log only, so please bring your own writing instrument.

This cache is near the home where the Ted Binion murder mystery took place. Binion was my neighbor. Did Rick Tabish and Sandy Murphy kill Binion or not? You decide!

The coordinates for this cache are:

N 36 A . B
W 115 C . D

To find this cache you will need to find the answers to the following questions:

A) When was Ted Binion allegedly murdered?

If August 3, 1998 = 08
If September 17, 1998 = 09
If October 10, 1998 = 10
If November 25, 1998 = 11

B) In addition to Heroin, what other drug was found in Binion’s body at his death?

If Methamphetamine = 132
If Percodin = 302
If Vicodin = 505
If Xanax = 757

C) Who was Rick Tabish’s first lawyer?

If Michael Baden = 07
If Michael Christalli = 08
If Dominic Gentile = 09
If Louis Palazzo = 10

D) What was the amount of silver Rick Tabish “stole” from Binion’s vault?

If $1 million = 205
If $7 million = 441
If $10 million = 679
If $20 million = 840

Bonus question: During the investigation of his death, how much cash was found in the motor of Ted Binion’s boat that he never used and kept parked in his driveway? If I had known the cash was there I would have borrowed his boat to go fishing, even though I don’t fish. If you don’t know the answer, e-mail me and I will tell you.

Additional info: When Ted was "murdered" the television news crews talked about the $750,000 mansion he lived in. Soon, that figure was stretched to $950,000 in the press. Then the house was offered for sale at $1.2 million, which, to us, was way over priced and just playing off of the notoriety of the murder. Since Ted's murder the house has never been lived in. Now the house is being offered for $2.75 million. We hope some fool buys it for that price. Maybe our house -- which was purchased for $270,000 in 1994 -- will also be viewed as a "mansion." We wouldn't mind getting millions for our house!
