Geocache Description:

The cache is on Puttenham Common, which has some steep hills if you do the circular walk.

This cache has been placed near the lair of the infamous legend " The Puttenham Pouncer ". The Pouncer was a terrible, huge, black cat, with burning red eyes, who used to pray upon poor lost travellers who had the misfortune to become lost on the common on foggy nights. Some say he still prowls there!!! The ratings for this cache are based on the circular walk. The short walk is very easy but I still wouldn't take pushchairs as the ground can be soft and sandy in places which can be hard going for a pushchair.

I suggest that you park at the car park at
N 51 13.074 W 000 41.803.
You can then either do a short walk to the cache or you can do a longer, more circular walk with some great views.
The next co-ordinates are for the first part of the circular walk
N 51 12.543 W 000 41.867
These will take you to a place where you overlook a pond. Looking at the pond turn left and there is a guide post follow this path to
N 51 12.706 W 000 41.462
where there is a superb view to be had.
Then go to the cache at
N 51 13.005 W 000 41.594

The cache is a large tupperware box containing a log book and lots of toys and Christmas cracker stuff. PLEASE MAKE SURE YOU PRESS ALL FOUR CORNERS OF THE LID TIGHTLY DOWN SO WATER CAN'T GET IN.
ALSO PLEASE HIDE IT WELL AS THIS IS A POPULAR PLACE FOR THE POUNCERS FAVOURITE FOOD "GEOMUGGLES"
The cache is surrounded by hills so it will take the cunning of a cat to find it without being seen!!!!
Keep the car park co-ordinates with you as you can't see the car park from the cache and if you start off on the wrong way back, well, who knows what you might bump into!!
The darkness falls and the fog rolls in, what was that terrible wailing sound? I can hear purring, the beast is upon us!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
