THE CACHE IS NOT LOCATED AT THE POSTED COORDINATES, BUT YOU NEED TO SOLVE THE MYSTERY PUZZLE TO FIND THE BOOTY.
American Fork Canyon provides a quiet haven away from the hustle and bustle of city life, and it is a pleasant place to take a family no matter the season. My son and I had a great time placing this cache on January 1, 2005 to celebrate the new year, and we had a nice short hike through the snow to place this one. In the winter, be sure to be prepared for weather conditions in the canyon.
The ammo box, as seen here, originally contained long, crazy pencils, and NO TRADE IS REQUIRED. I encourage cachers to bring their kids, and you are welcome to take one item for each of your children. There is also a handful of 1950 wheat pennies, so take one for your visit (no trade required). Other items will be added in the future. There is also a FTF reward: a 1943 steel penny in a protective case.
The code used here is quite famous, mainly for the individual who created it. Generally, when deciphering a code, you look for high-frequency characters that give you clues as the true letters of the plaintext. However, I have put a few twists on the actual plaintext as you will see as you decipher it.
One suggestion: Please make your way carefully to the cache site as to leave as little trail as possible so we can protect the surroundings and leave less of a clue for other cachers.
