Geocache Description:


Welcome to the Lake District #1 Multi a mystery cache requiring endurance and some logical skills.

THE ABOVE COORDINATES ARE FAKE, but will take you to a place where you can park your vehicle.

There is also an excellent bus connection only 50 m away. Bus 520 from Nils Eriksonsplatsen to Sjövik is stopping by here. Services are normally hourly but check the time table before you leave.
To complete this multi you will need to visit all the 9 caches (Lake District #1 : 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9 (+ optional BONUS)).
Also needed for finding the "Lake District #1 Tricky Final" are some signs on the way mentioned more in detail when appropriate.

The caches you need to visit in this order are :

#1 Old mill (GCMB0P)
#2 Lake view (GCMB0Z)
#3 Remarkable vitamines (GCMB17)
#4 In the shadow (GCMB19)
#5 Wolf land (GCMB1A)
#6 Isolated pills (GCMB1E)
#7 Not obvious (GCMB1F)
#8 The curtain (GCMB1G)
#9 Tricky Final (GCMB1H)
+ Optional BONUS (GCMB1K)

You will face a long nice walk in the woods so prepare well before you start. The total length of the walk is approx. 15-18 km and it takes about 3,5-5 hours only to walk at rather high pace + some time for finding the caches and have some breaks. In total hardly under 7 hours. Please report !
There are some things that may come handy like high walking boots or rubber boots but also a pencil and some paper aswell as also a small basic calculator. Of course a good detailed map (like Gröna Kartan Västra Götaland or O-län) could help too. A good compass, as a security measure, is always a good idea. There are few tracks in some parts of this trip but the waste majority of the distance can be walked on pathes.

This is my first cache ever to place but after haveing passed 100 found I feel the need for presenting a payback to you all at a qualified level. There may be a sequel to this one, if your critics are positive. So please give me your personal rating when you log on the homepage together with constructive criticism. If there is something hard to understand then please log.

Sceneries are partly very beautiful and chances are good to find nice picnic areas or even places to take a swim under the right weather conditions. Don´t forget to pick up your litter and to bring a lot to drink. There are absolutely no shops around. Wildlife is great here with lots of roe and moose, birdlife is varied during summertime. But also snakes and lizards are frequent.
Caches are placed at rather traditional places BUT some may be very well hidden.
Inspiration to this multi comes partly from Svenouis multi Roller Coaster placed not so far away from here but also the book "The Da Vinci Code" by Dan Brown was inspiring me too. You must not have read the book nor haveing visited the mentioned multi either. But both are good options.
In each of the Lake District #1 1-9 caches you will find a note with coordinate information for the next cache – you will have to find them all to find the Tricky Final. Also you will have to pass some signs for finding some caches already before the final. On top of that there is a Bonus cache that will make your trip well worth remembering too. The "BONUS" cache can only be found after haveing found the "Tricky Final" and will also challenge you in other ways. Coded help is used at occasion so take your time already before start to crack the code.

Please do not remove any hints or aids that are placed in the caches. They are there to facilitate for coming visitors. Normal trading stuff is included in most of the caches aswell as stashnotes, a log book and a pencil.
The BONUS cache will also make you end up not too far away from the above indicated parking coordinates.

Please keep all the coordinates for the caches found for further use.

If there should be problems then please report them when logging.
N.B all information in the caches is only supplied in Swedish !

Please hide all caches well again after your log!

The first cache is found on coordinates N57 49.464 E12 14.900 and is a 0,2 l cache containing from start (except log book, stash note & pencil):
* 3 Austrian coins
* 9 pieces of 0,9mm leads for a suitable pencil.

The cache also contains information on how to find the second cache Lake District #1 : 2 - Lake View. Please do not remove it.

This place has once been a part of an old mill but time has severely changed the character of the old construction and only ruins remain now. Today this is a playground for children fishing or taking a bath. There is still a small lake from where a small creek starts its way down to Lärjeån.
It may be slippery up the dam when approaching so take care !
