Located near Colliers WV. This is on the Panhandle Trail which is a very nice rails to trails. Great for bicycles.
How's your luck is a 50/50 chance you will get it easy or tough. There are 2 different parking areas for this part of the trail. Parking coordinates for the west area are N 40 23.639 W 080 34.121 and the coords for the east parking area are N 40 21.993 W 080 31.588. The coords at the top of the page are for the micro which has the numbers for the location of the ammo box which you will be looking for. The micro is midway between the two parking areas. The ammo box is located near one or the other parking place. If you choose the right place to park this will be about a 3 mile jaunt, but if you choose the wrong parking place it will be about a 6 mile hike!!! This is a real nice trail for bicycles. Colliers grew up as a railroad town. When the railroad was built, Colliers became a thriving community with hotels, restaurants, doctors, pharmacists, grist mills, and stores. In the 1912 flood, this community was hit very hard, but bounced back and grew stronger. Because of the railroad, Colliers was the scene of the longest bare-nuckle boxing match between Paddy Ryan and Joe Goss. The fight was illegal and was held at Colliers so both fighters and spectaters could quickley cross the state line. It lasted 87 rounds and each round was a knock-down!! Good Luck.
