Geocache Description:

This was the first WiFi cache in the world. You'll need special equipment to get the coordinates but the physical cache can also be difficult to find.

The original cache page was completely blank apart from the name and coordinates. At the time personal WiFi networks were still rare which made it more of a challenge. I added this information later when this cache’s historical significance became clear.

Many early cachers brought laptops to get the coordinates because they didn’t have a suitable smaller device. Several brought new-fangled  “Personal Digital Assistants” (PDAs), such as iPaqs and Psions (which predated smartphones). Other people didn’t have anything portable to bring at all and I met them at the coordinates to help out. The older logs on this cache page make fun reading.

This cache has its original logbook placed in 2004.  There are lots of original cachers' names and is worth checking out.
