Tom's Brother: Unfortunately, after 9 years, 240 finds and 9 didn't finds, the cache has disappeared.

Over the years, the cache has been muggled a number of times, probably by soldiers, but always put back in reasonable condition. This time it has gone for good.

Time, I think for the cache to be archived and the surrounding area freed up for someone to place a new cache. Hope it's not another of those puzzle caches - my home coordinates seem to be surrounded by them!

Thanks to everyone who has visited the cache and for the, often, kind words about it.

Geocache Description:

Recommended parking is at the Look Out off the Nine Mile Ride in Bracknell. There's a fairly clear view of the sky from the cache area but the best signal I could get from a number of visits gave about 30 feet accuracy.

The cache is in an area of forest variously called Swinley Forest, Star Post and, nowadays, the Look Out. As anyone who has been there will know, this is one of the largest tracts of forest in the south of England and the cache is hidden around 2 miles as the crow flies from the Look out car park in Bracknell. There are good solid tracks all the way until the last 30 feet.

Grenade Spur is the name given to the spot where the cache is hidden. You probably won’t find that name on any regular map. I’ve only seen it mentioned on an orienteering map I have of the area. From the spur, there’s a pleasant view of the forest looking towards Camberley. The cache itself is a Tupperware box capable of holding 5-6 small/medium sized gifts.
