This cache is located just off the Arizona Trail at the top of Granite Mountain. Granite Mountain is roughly 2 miles S.W. of Kentucky Camp in the Santa Rita Mountains.
You could hike in from Kentucky Camp or even the AZ Trailhead in Box Canyon. If you want to park as close to the cache as possible you can park on the Arizona Trail at the base of Granite Mtn. at N 31° 45.319 W 110° 45.907. The road is a good dirt road from Kentucky Camp to the parking spot, 4 wheel drive would not be required except maybe in exceptional weather conditions.
The container is an ammo can with the usual trade items. Watch out for the usual desert critters and plants. From the parking spot to the top is about 1/4 mile with an elevation gain of about 350 feet. There is no established trail to the top but you can't get lost. You can see forever.
