Geocache Description:

A tranquil location with beautiful views, near the historic village of Hathersage. Paper was made here in the 19th Century. In keeping with the location, we have chosen to theme our cache around paper. Please make any swaps paper related.

The cache is located in an area near the old Paper Mill, under Stanage Edge. It is close to North Lees Hall, the setting for Thornfield Hall in the novel Jane Eyre, by Charlotte Bronte. The nearest public pay and display parking is at Hollins Bank Car Park. Turn left from the car park, and turn right immediately after the Peak Park Ranger station and toilets. At the bottom of the wood, take the right footpath across the contour of the hill. The ground may be boggy following a rainfall, and as there are several stiles, it is not suitable for buggies. However, we set the cache with 82-year-old great-granny soupdragon and 4-year-old baby soupdragon in tow so it should be suitable for most geocachers. Please take care when crossing the stepping-stones and near the millpond with small children. We recommend taking a spoiler picture with you, as the gps signal could be erratic under the trees. The cache is in a Tupperware style container.
