Located in the Grassy Lake conservation Area. This cache is a little longer hike than most(approx. 2.5 - 3 miles, round-trip) but the trail is all gravel and well maintained. There is a picnic / playground area and tennis courts adjacent to the parking area.
Park at the coordinates given for this cache (N42:12.620 / W088:10.325) From the parking lot you'll pass thru a neat little tunnel, walk alongside a gurgling creek, admire some beautiful homes, and skirt the Wagner Fen. The trail ends at a scenic overview of the Fox River, where you can sit and watch the water wildlife (human and animal).
This is a multi-stage cache; the final cache can be located by combining the clues found in the two initial stages. The clues are in tubular containers about 1 inch in diameter and 5 inches long. You do not need to open the tubes, and take care to return them to their original location. The locations of the two initial stages are:
Stage 1: N42:12.741 / W088:10.405
Stage 2: N42:13.461 / W088:10.296
Both initial stages are located a short distance from the trail and require a minimal amount of bushwacking. The final cache is in a 30 cal. ammo can and is located approx. 90 ft. off the main trail.
