Geocache Description:

The location is for the suggested parking NOT for the cache. CODES HAVE TO BE SOLVED BEFORE THE CACHE LOCATION IS FOUND. This cache was inspired by the junior Vermin's interest in codes and cyphers. The location is a "Caesar's camp" (actually an Iron Age hillfort) near Farnborough

Some homework is required before stepping out on this cache! Websites might help and some basic (14 year old) deviousness and maths is required. At the end of this you are looking for a regular ammo box, that started off full of puzzle games. This Caesar's camp has a great view of Farnborough airfield and when the show is on you can see all of the aerobatics very well. IN WINTER THIS CACHE CAN GET VERY EXPOSED - PLEASE COVER IT WELL WITH DEAD LEAVES AND BRACKEN TO PREVENT ACCIDENTAL DISCOVERY Step 1 Solve the follow formula (what value is Y?): 3Y + 15 = 2Y + (10^2 - 84) Step 2 If Y is Odd choose Binary A, if Y is Even choose Binary B Binary A 01100111011000010110001001110011011101100110000101101 101011001100110011101110110011101010110001001100001011000 100110000101100111011100100111001101100011011101000111001 001100101011100100110100001100111011101010110010101100010 011000100111010101110000011001110111000101100101011001100 110010101100010011001010111011001100111011011100111010101 110010011001110111011001110010011100010110011101100001011 001100111000001110011011101000111001001101011011100100111 001001101100011001110111001001110101011101100110010101110 010011001100110101001110100011100100110001001101001011100 100111001101110010011000010111001001110010011001010111011 001100001011100100111011001100111011100100110001101101001 011001100111001001110100011100100110000101100110011011000 110011001100010011100100110011101110010011101010111001000 101010 Binary B 01110111011100100110111101101110011001110111011101110 0100110111101101110011001110111011101110010011011110110111 0011001110111011101110010011011110110111001100111011101110 1110010011011110110111001100111011101110111001001101111011 0111001100111011101110111001001101111011011100110011101110 1110111001001101111011011100110011101110111011100100110111 1011011100110011101110111011100100110111101101110011001110 1110111011100100110111101101110011001110111011101110010011 0111101101110011001110111011101110010011011110110111001100 1110111011101110010011011110110111001100111011101110111001 0011011110110111001100111011101110111001001101111011011100 1100111011101110111001001101111011011100110011101110111011 1001001101111011011100110011101110111011100100110111101101 110011001110111011101110010011011110110111001100111 Step 3 Convert the binary code into American Standard Code (for Information Interchange) Step 4 Geocode the American Code (otherwise known as a Caesar Shift 13 or Rot13) Step 5 Square the text and read vertically for the initial cache coordinates Step 6 Subtract XXVII from the last 3 numbers of the Northing. Add LXXXI to the last 3 numbers of the Westing. Given all the comments on the steep climb, we thought that we might add that the steepest climb is the direct route from the car park to the cache! This steep climb heads SW and is up the NE corner of the hill. If you head more to the South and then up to a ridge, you can climb up to the Caesar's Camp from the East side which is a gentler route! For the hard of google searching these sites might be useful! www.paulschou.com/tools/xlate/ and www.rot13.com
