Before you start up the trail read through the whole page to
make sure you have all the numbers you need when you get up the
hill!
**********************************************************
Pay attention to the trail number.
From there head up the stairs to N45º18.638' W121º 48.086' and
make a note of when Elizabeth Goltra made her quote and the year of
Mr. Bailey's quote. You might want to remember the approximate year
that what you are standing on was built.
Next, continue to the top of the chute and remember the years
that Charles Brandt and Stewart Eaken made their quotes.
Now it's time for the math! This is the part that always messes
me up on the way to multi-caches. I always get in a hurry and goof
up!
For the 'N' the year of Stewart's quote minus the year of Mr.
Brandt's quote is 'A'. The year that the Mount Hood Loop Highway
was built minus the year James Bailey made his quote is 'B'. And
the day in September that Elizabeth made her quote is 'C'. The
cache is at N45º(C-6).742-(A+B).
For the 'W' the numbers of the trail are xyz. The cache is at
W121º47.(y-3) z x.
To get to the cache you will follow trails or old roads until
the last 15 feet or so.
The cache contains some cool outdoor stuff. Also, there's a
'First Finder' prize that wouldn't fit in the container.
