The Iverson Ranch is famous as an old film and TV set. On some older maps, this area is called "Garden of the Gods". While doing some caching in this area, we hid our own cache.
The cache is very near where some of the scenes from the old TV series, The Lone Ranger, were filmed. In particular, there is a scene that was used in almost every episode, with the Lone Ranger on his horse, Silver. The rocks in the background of that scene are the rocks near where this cache is hidden. If you click on the "View the Image Gallery of 5 images" link, at the top of the logs, you will see two pictures of The Lone Ranger and Silver at these rocks.
The box is an Altoids-type tin, in a ziplok bag. All that is in it are the standard stash-note, a two-ended pencil, a log sheet and two Where's George? dollar bills, one from each of us. These are for the first two finders; please log them in and then spend them, or pass them along into another cache, as you see fit.
There is a way down to the cache that does not require any bushwhacking, so please look for it. There is plenty of parking here, and there is another cache less than two-tenths of a mile away that is quite a lot of fun, if challenging. This area is surrounded by homes, and we were watched almost constantly by one resident. So, please do not tear up the landscape! The terrain rating is a two mainly because if you park in the "wrong" place, it may take you a while to find the way in. There are a number of pack-rat nests in these rocks, so be wary of them. Unfortunately, several of the best hidey-holes were already taken But we found a good spot with no evidence of rats' nests or poison oak. Please try to re-hide it well. Webfoot's Garmin 12 and chaosmanor's Magellan 315 were within 0.001' of each other, on both co-ordinates Elevation is app. 1170 feet.
Good luck, kemo sabe!
