Geocache Description:

This is a cache on the edge of the Frank Church Wilderness Area. It is accessible by plane, hiking, or horseback.

Chuckcat (my father) and I flew in (via single engine backcountry plane) and did an 85-mile hike to find and plant a number of caches in the Frank Church (River of No Return) Wilderness Area. This is the last of six caches planted on this trip and was placed on Independence Day. This cache is a painted ammo can. You don’t have to fly into the Sulphur Creek airstrip if you don’t mind a hike from the Boundary Creek/Dagger Falls area, although flying is the most fun way to get there! If you fly, you can taxi within 200 feet of this cache. The lodge at Sulphur Creek has cabins available and can cook up a mean breakfast but that is not at all necessary to find this cache. The area is really good for horses and makes a great location for a great weekend camping trip. The airstrip is long and grassy and a popular strip among the backcountry pilots.

There is a camera in this cache! Take a photo of yourself (it has a timer if you can prop it up) and put the camera back in the cache. When the camera fills up, we will try to develop the film and post the photos on-line.

The Frank Church Wilderness Area is closed to motorized vehicles (except on the airstrips) and bicycles.
