This cache is located just off the Italian Spring Trail from
Reddington Road to the summit of
Mica Mountain (8,664 feet). This cache is located about halfway
between my parking spot near Italian Trap Tank at N 32° 17.291 W 111° 34.684 and the summit of
Mica Mountain at
N 32° 13.191 W 111° 32.607.
The cache container is a 30 caliber ammo can filled with an
assortment of items. If you don't complete the hike all the way to
the summit of Mica Mountain, this will still be a long round-trip
desert hike of about 10 miles, with your actual distance varying
depending on how far you can drive in on the 4WD road. There is no
water and no shade on the trail to this cache, so bring plenty of
water and wear a hat and sunscreen.
