Geocache Description:

This is a canoe cache. We took two of our favorite hobbies, canoeing and geocaching and came up with this cache.

Take a nice paddle down the Plover River and find this cache on your way. The terrain rating is high simply because you need a canoe. The paddle itself is an easy voyage down stream. Drop your canoe in at Bentley Road Bridge. The cache is a green ammo box about 2.5 miles down river, about a 2 hour paddle. You do not need to leave your canoe to find it. Continue down the river until you reach your take out point at Jordan
Park. The whole trip took us 4.5 hours and that was with a stop for lunch and a swim or two. There is a small set of rapids at an old dam just before reaching Jordan Park. The rapids are runnable and there is a portage available on the left side if you so choose. Sing this Kenny Rogers song as you float down the river (name of the cache). We have provided the lyrics below. Print out the words and bring them along. Trust us it is a must to sing this song as you go along. Also make sure to bring a pair of sunglass to sacrifice to the River Gods, we always seem to. To get to Bentley Road from Jordan Park take County Highway Y past Jordan Park to Bentley Road. Take a right on Bentley and travel a few hundred yards to a small bridge where you can put in before the bridge on the right side.Bentley Road: N: 44 39.089 W 89 28.307Jordan Park: N: 44 34.719 W 89 29.924

Lucille
In a bar in toledo across from the depot
On a barstool she took off her ring
I thought I’d get closer
So I walked on over
I sat down and asked her name
When the drink finally hit her
She said I’m no quitter
But I finally quit living on dreams
I’m hungry for laughter
And here ever after
I’m after whatever the other life brings

In the mirror I saw him
I closely watch him
I thought how he looked out of place
He came to the woman
Who sat their beside me
He had a strange look on his face
The big hands are callous
He looked like a mountain
For a minute I thought I was dead
But he started shaking
His big heart was breaking
He turned to the woman and said

You picked the fine time to leave me, lucille
Four hungry children and a crop in the field
I’ve had some bad time
Live thru’ some sad times
But this time your hurtin wouldn’t heal

After he left us, I ordered more whiskey
I thought how he made him look small
From lights of the bar room to a rented hotel room
We walked without talking at all
She was a beauty, but when she came to me
She must have thought I lost my mind
I couldn’t hold her, the words that he told her
Kept coming back time after time.

You picked the fine time to leave me, lucille
Four hungry children and a crop in the field
I’ve had some bad time
Live thru’ some sad times
But this time your hurtin wouldn’t heal

You picked the fine time to leave me, lucille
Four hungry children and a crop in the field
I’ve had some bad time
Live thru’ some sad times
But this time your hurtin wouldn’t heal

Signing off,
Lost Boys
