Geocache Description:

Please note that hunting this cache WILL require special equipment of your choice. Please hunt this cache and use your "equipment" in a safe, proper, and legal manner. View images for "equipment" clues!

Including Rudy (front left), 30 of us attended Operation Ice Walk 2005, on 02/05!  All but one of us made it all the way to the cache site across the ice! Be sure to read the logs here and at Operation Ice Walk 2005 to view all the great pictures and comments from everyone!  Thanks to everyone for making this hunt for the Un"Guarded" cache such a fun experience.

It was originally expected that this cache would be one of the least found caches in the area. Untill  Operation Ice Walk this remained true. Several reasons for this will become apparent as you learn more about the general location of this cache.

This cache is located in Michigan, very close to the Ohio border. It should be a fun hunt for those in Southeastern Michigan as well as those in Northwest Ohio.

The coordinates at the top of this page are for the original location of the cache before it was plundered in June of 2005.  The next location is only about 20 feet away at N 41° 44.886'  W 83° 26.563'. The cache had been plundered again when checked on 10/06/07, so it was replaced on 10/09/07 back to the original location.  Therefore if you are really lucky, you may find TWO containers!

The cache container should be reasonably weatherproof if care is taken to close it properly. To add to the difficulty of the cache, no additional  information will be given about the container. Along with a log book, the cache was initially packed to the brim with several interesting items.

There are multiple ways to approach this cache. To further add to the difficulty, no information will be given as to how to approach the cache location. However, for your safety, please study the available maps and charts carefully and abide by all laws that may involve your approach method.

The general difficulty rating of the cache was started at level 3.  This may  be adjusted later based on your feedback. The terrain rating however will always remain at level 5, since special equipment is required.

Please try to CITO (Cache In - Trash Out) while at this cache.
