Geocache Description:

The cache I placed in this vicinity in 2003 was plundered (twice) but I am trying again. This one is in an entirely new location, a bit further back from the heavily used area. There are no real trails to the site; a bit of mild bushwhacking is needed.

Tree cover messes up the GPS readings near the cache. I got the best average I could and it will get you close. I didn't see any Poison Ivy but there are few nettles around and a tick found me. You can bypass the thorny blackberry patch if you watch for it. Long pants recommended.

The container is a standard Ammo can. It's well concealed but shouldn't be too hard to find. Please replace as found

The original contents included the usual assortment of stuff and some travel bugs which have moved on. The cache has served well as a travel bug drop.

Update, Fall 2008: When there is no snow on the ground, late fall through early spring is the easiest time to reach this cache.

July 2010: Based on some recent logs, if you just stop by while traveling I-80 in the summer you probably should consider it a 3 terrain. It's not very far to go but the bugs are numerous, the weeds are high and it can be muddy.

August 2015 The spring floods altered the area a bit and washed the cache out of its original location. But the ammo can was fine. It was cleaned up and tucked into a new place very close to original spot.
