Geocache Description:

This Cache is located near the newly rededicated Kansas City Power & Light Employee Memorial. The terrain is flat with sidewalks, and is handicap accessible. It is an easy cache to find, within 200ft of parking.
You may park in the driveway to the employee parking if the gate is closed, or inside the employee lot when the gates are open. Please be careful traffic is heavy at times, as this is located in an industrial area.

This memorial is dedicated to those who have given their lives, not to save others or to win wars, but to maintain the quality of life that we can so easily take for granted. We always assume that there will be electricity whenever we flip a switch.

The people who's name are etched into the wall of this memorial have helped make that possible. The Cache is made out of a round military food container and looks like an olive drab bucket. It is buried at ground level. Please take time to read the memorial and put your thoughts into the logbook, and take a photo.

The cache was started with 2 geocaching hats, 2 KCPL pens that light up like the Power & Light building downtown, and a bag of misc goodies. Kansas City Power & Light is sponsoring this cache along with the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers. They have given permission for this cache to be placed here.
