Pierce Island is on beautiful Spofford Lake just off of Rt. 9 between Keene NH.and Brattleboro VT. There are several landings for canoe or kayak. The footpaths are not maintained, but can be seen amid the forest debris. On the day we visited the low bush bluberries were well budded, and we saw a mother Canada goose on her nest with baby chicks popping their heads out from under her tail feathers. I bet it was nice n' toasty tucked underneath Mama.
The cache is a regular size ammo box with a geocache sticker. I'm also including, bug dope, and a camera to take a picture of you and your boats. I replaced the stolen cache on 8/15/04. This time I chained it to a tree, hopefully this will be enough to keep it safe. You can help by carefully placing cache back so it is well hidden. Thanks
