Geocache Description:

Spotted this location from some old topo maps that I was reviewing the other evening. I noticed a large area of Wharton that has no active caches. I wondered about the name of the area when I spotted it on the maps. so I went to see for myself and discovered that Maple Island is an unusual section of the Piney Woods, devoid of pines for the most part. A small patch of hardwood in the midst of the Pines, and yes it almost an island in the traditional sense, you will see that during your visit. As always have fun, be careful what U step in, be aware, and most of all enjoy these Piney Woods with me.
