Geocache Description:

Flat terrain, easy walking. Handicapped accessible.
Cache updated July 17, 2006

There has been a lot of discussion lately about micro caches hidden in public areas that may draw unwanted attention from muggles, cops, and well intended but misinformed members of the public. I personally don't hunt these caches most of the time, because I don't like them. I also don't like being a hypocrite because I do have such a cache myself: this one.

I wanted to archive this cache the last time the topic got hot, but got talked out of it. This time (Jan. 2010) I was going to finally do it, but, thanks to some encouragement, I decided to keep the cache, but use it as a tool. So, this cache has new verbiage:

THIS IS AN EXAMPLE OF THE TYPE OF CACHE THAT CAN DRAW UNNECESSARY AND UNWANTED ATTENTION TO GEOCACHING, AND SHOULD BE DESCOURAGED IF NOT TOTALLY ELIMINATED. THE CACHE IS IN AN AREA THAT IS TOO PUBLIC (but I do have permission) AND AN AREA THAT HAS NO REAL SCENIC, HISTORIC OR EVEN INTERESTING ATTRIBUTES. IT HAS EXISTED SINCE 2004 JUST BECAUSE IT GETS COUNTED AS A FIND.

Even this verbiage bothers me, and I may still archive the cache if it doesn't serve it's purpose as a teaching tool. You can still log the cache as a find, but I would encourage you to just post a note. If you have logged the cache in the past, feel free to change your find to a note.

Please don't use this cache page as a forum. If you have any lengthy comments, I encourage you to send me an email (good or bad..I can take it) or post something in the NwoGeo forums. See below.

BTW, this is the home of our monthly NWOGeo meet/eat. (visit link) Come on by the 1st Tue of each month. We'll have a web page up of course.
