Geocache Description:

A tour of the Lansing downtown and Riverwalk areas. The difficulty rating is only applicable if you hike the entire thing from the start. If driving between stages, terrain difficulty is a 1. Ratings were based on the cache difficulty rating system linked from this site.

This cache is kid friendly and mostly dog friendly, but leashes and cleanup equipment would be required. Check the City of Lansing ordinances regarding dogs before bringing one along, as we live outside the ctiy. We did see some dogs on leashes in the area, however.

The various stages are handicap accessible, but handicapped geocachers may want to drive to various parking facilities rather than covering the entire route from one parking location. We walked 2.88 miles round trip in laying this out. It took us 55 minutes of fairly brisk walking to complete the loop. Almost all walking is on cement or asphalt, with the exception of some areas that are boardwalks and a couple of places where you need to walk on grass to see something. SUGGESTED Parking is at N42 43.902 W084 32.917. Many other spots exist, however.

The cache is also shopper friendly. Stop in at various points to browse the offerings of a wide variety of merchants. There are also several good museums in the region, and the river trail can be explored as far as you might desire. Educational opportunities abound along the way. There may even be some other caches in the area. At the final stage, there are many other historical markers, monuments, statues and other items of historical importance.

To claim this cache as found, please e-mail us with the answers to the questions in stage 5, and we'll reply verifying your find. You may post a find pending verification, we reserve the right to delete questionable finds.
