Geocache Description:

A wander through a charming Buckinghamshire village and a bit of the nearby countryside, passing locations used as the setting for a number of outdoor scenes in the Midsomer Murder television series.

The co-ordinates given are for the village square, which is a convenient place to park the car. Cross the main road and stroll down the High Street, passing many quaint and picturesque old buildings on the way, many of which have been shown over the years in the TV series.

Opposite The Old Police House you should spot the sign of the butcher. What year was it established? Make a note of the numbers – 1ABC.

Further along the High Street, opposite The Golden Cross is a date on The Long Crendon Hall. But beware; this building may not be what it first appears! The date it was erected will give you 188D.

Further still, you’ll find Tudor Cottage facing three blue commemorative plaques. On the centre plaque, add all the digits of the year together and divide by four to give you E. Just one more set of numbers to collect now …

Further on and not quite facing each other are Mulberry House, number AB, and Madges, number FF.

You should now have collected six numbers, represented by the letters A-F.

Use them to work out the following co-ordinates:

N 51° 4(D-B+E).B(E+F)A W 00° 5D.(A/B)(B+F)(B-E)

Make your way to that location. There you will need to discover the co-ordinates of your final destination.

The cache is a half litre screw-top beaker..
