Doon the Glen Multi-cache

This cache has been archived.

Haggis Hunter: Now gone for good. I'm going to use one or two of the contents for a new cache, and I will also be able to re-use the rest of the logbook for a future cache too.

Thanks to everyone who has visited, there are some good comments in the logbook. Personally I don't think there was a lot of rubbish about, but there was obviously enough for people to feel uncomfortable whilst searching. I'm sorry to see this go, and I hope someone else will place another cache here in the future.

Geocache Description:

This cache is located between Loanhead and Bilston Glen Gorge. At some point during it you are going to find yourself at Bilston Glen Viaduct. Bilston Glen Viaduct was built in 1892 for the North British Railway Company to carry a single line branch. It is approximately 45 metres above the Bilston Glen Gorge, and is 100.5 metres long. It only took 11 days to complete. It is now part of the Midlothian footpath and cycleway network connecting Loanhead to Roslin.

The co-ordinates that you have at the top of the page are for the best place to park. Once there you will have to answer the following questions to get the co-ordinates to a micro cache (the clue on this page is for the micro cache). Within the micro cache is the co-ordinates and clue to the whereabouts of the final regular cache.

This is the final co-ordinates for the micro cache which is a 35mm film case.

The main cache is a Tupperware box, and it is in a black bag.

Original contents of the cache :

Camera to take photo of yourself (camera now removed, the pictures are posted below).

Perfume.

Watch.

Watch & Bracelet.

Socks.

Candles & Holder.

Porsche GT3 toy car.

CD Rom.

Pack of cards.

Dee Dee bobble head.

3 Elastic bands to hold the lid shut.

NOTE: It took me 3 attempts to get the best co-ords for the micro cache, and 4 attempts for the main cache. Don't totally rely upon the GPS but it will get you very near, as GiantTangent says the clues and logic should counter this.

The final Co-ordinates can also be used as part of Homage to Edinburgh’s Multi-Caches

Travel Bugs are the property of the person who has released them. Therefore I do not count them as a swap item.
Please DO NOT take an item in exchange for any Travel Bugs that you may wish to leave in this cache.

If you are new to Geocaching or don't know the area, then have a look at my bookmark lists for Edinburgh, you may find them helpful.
