Geocache is .55 of a mile uphill from parking area
SAFETY NOTE: Reaching it involves climbing some rocks that might not be safe for young children and certainly required good treads on our shoes.
From parking, follow the orange trail (Massanutten Trail) a full half mile until it no longer is going uphill. On your right you should have an awesome view. To your left, you should be able to see lots of rocks lining the top of this mountain. Soon, you should reach the point where we cut off, left, from the trail to hide the geocache. At that point were the following observed characteristics:
1) A hollowed out, jagged edged tree stump on the left
2) an orange blazed tree on the left side of the trail
3) roof tops of houses far out at approximately 45 degrees NNE
4.) A clear view of an "S" curve of the Edinburg Gap Road (route 675) on the right hand side
5) Town lights toward the North
We climbed the rocks until we reached the top. It is in this area that we hid the geocache (just over the top), a plastic canister about a foot in height.
Original contents include: Travel Bug #429662 (Elma the Carousel Horse), 2 cassette tapes, Incredible Hulk Lanyard, two toy cars, funny glasses, asian bracelet and a purple mini carbiner.
